Timbers coach praises his players for their attacking prowess in 2-1 win over LA Galaxy
Portland Timbers coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst was full of praise for his players' attacking prowess after the Timbers' 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy in their MLS clash on Saturday.
The Timbers took the lead in the 12th minute through Dairon Asprilla, and doubled their advantage in the 35th minute through Sebastián Blanco.
The Galaxy pulled a goal back in the 80th minute through Kevin Cabral, but the Timbers held on for victory.
Van Bronckhorst said he was impressed with the way his team attacked the Galaxy, and he was also pleased with the way they defended.
"I thought we played very well tonight," Van Bronckhorst said. "We were very good in the first half, and we created a lot of chances."
"We scored two good goals, and we could have scored more. We defended well in the second half, and we deserved to win the game."
The Timbers are now unbeaten in their last five games, and they have moved up to fourth place in the Western Conference standings.
