Marte Returns to Active Roster
After spending time on the injured list (IL), Ketel Marte has rejoined the Arizona Diamondbacks. The infielder has been sidelined since July 22nd due to a sprained left ankle.
Marte's Injury and Recovery
Marte suffered the injury during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He underwent an MRI, which revealed a Grade 2 sprain.
Marte began his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Reno Aces on August 10th. He played in three games with the Aces, going 3-for-12 with a double and two walks.
Marte's Importance to D-backs
Marte is a key player for the D-backs. He is a versatile infielder who can play multiple positions, including shortstop, second base, and third base.
Marte is also a valuable offensive player. He is a career .289 hitter with an on-base percentage of .346 and a slugging percentage of .463.
