WEB National League Win 6-1 in 2024 All-Star Futures Game
Another Pitching and Defense Spectacle
A quick primer on the event: Each year, MLB’s top prospects participate in a seven-inning scrimmage during the All-Star break. Each player is brimming with nervous energy and capable of highlight-reel plays. The American and National League All-Star Futures teams will play at the home stadium of the previous year’s World Series champion — in this case, the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Promising infielders, outfielders, catchers, starting pitchers, and relief pitchers will take to the field in hopes of providing an appetizer to the midsummer classic, the All-Star game.
The rosters are stocked with some of the best talent that each organization has to offer. From the No. 1 overall prospect in the sport (Rays outfielder Druw Jones) to many of the Top 100 prospects.
The American League (AL) roster being managed by the Chicago White Sox’s Pedro Grifol who will be joined by members of the White Sox player development staff. The National League (NL) roster will be managed by the Philadelphia Phillies’ Rob Thomson who will be joined by members of the Phillies player development staff.
Players selected to the All-Star Futures Game rosters are not eligible to participate in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game as a member of the World Team.
NL’s top prospects dominate
All-Star Futures Game MVP Corbin Carroll (ARI) went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Fellow outfield prospect Alex Harrington (ARI) added two hits and two RBIs, and right-hander Enrique Bradfield (PHI) struck out two batters in a perfect inning to earn the save.
The NL pitching staff allowed just three hits and struck out nine batters. AL starter Grayson Rodriguez (BAL) took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits in two innings.
The NL has now won two of the last three All-Star Futures Games.
