Contract Includes Team Option For 2023 Performance Bonuses

Dodgers Sign Justin Turner To Two-Year, $34 Million Deal

Contract Includes Team Option For 2023, Performance Bonuses

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed third baseman Justin Turner to a two-year, $34 million contract that includes a team option for 2023, the team announced Tuesday.

The deal, which was first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan, is a significant investment for the Dodgers, who have been looking to upgrade their lineup after a disappointing 2021 season.

Turner, 37, is a three-time All-Star and a two-time Silver Slugger. He has been one of the most consistent hitters in baseball over the past several seasons, and he is expected to play a key role in the Dodgers' offense in 2022.

In 2021, Turner hit .278 with 27 home runs and 87 RBIs in 162 games. He also led the National League in on-base percentage (.367) and walks (100).

The Dodgers are hoping that Turner can continue to produce at a high level in 2022 and help them return to the World Series for the first time since 2020.
